Fetish and music
Selena Gomez released the music video for her new single "Fetish" featuring Gucci Mane. Gomez and the video's director explain that the concept came from their love for horror movies. The video shows the weird love you can have towards someone and how you express it. Selena Gomez debuted the music video for her new single "Fetish" this week, and the internet had a few… questions. Like why, exactly, the year-old was chowing down on everything from glass to lipstick and using an eyelash curler on her tongue rather than her lashes in the minute-long clip. The video, directed by Petra Collins, begins with Gomez carrying groceries down an idyllic neighborhood street. Things take turn, though, and soon the singer smashes the bag of groceries, crawls over a table set for a banquet, wraps her tongue in string, and writhes inside a freezer. There is definitely meaning behind the madness in Selena Gomez's "Fetish" video, and if it's unsettling, that's intentional.
Why have we a dichotomy? Do my suspicions bear out? A good debate, maybe for the discussion posts! Cultural change occurs by distinction and discord.
